Large batch of drugs found at Phuket airport

On January 20, 2023, an Uzbek citizen who arrived in Thailand on a direct flight from Doha (Qatar) was detained at Phuket International Airport with a batch of narcotic substances.

During a random search, cocaine (white powder) was found in 8 plastic bags with a total weight of 2.23 kg, hidden in a secret pocket of a laptop bag.

Currently, a citizen of Uzbekistan has been charged with importing drugs of the second category into the Kingdom of Thailand.
