Aktau Airport: history and facts

1. Aktau Airport (kaz. Ақтау халықаралық әуежайы) began operating in 1983.

2. Construction of a new modern terminal began in 2009, and the airport came under 100% management of a private Turkish company, which allowed the terminal to be equipped with the latest electronic and electromechanical systems.

3. In 2010, the airport was awarded the "Best Airport of the Year of the CIS countries".

4. Today, the airport is the third in Kazakhstan in terms of passenger traffic after Almaty and Astana. The air harbor accepts all types of vessels of Kazakh and foreign airlines.
